{Gold} for the Holidays

I have been on a gold kick lately. It is a great accent to your daily jewelry, home décor and definitely for weddings. I love that it adds a warmth to whatever color palette you are working with. It is also a perfect starting point for all your holiday entertaining. One of my favorite ways to use gold is to mix it with more natural tones – the gold adds just enough glam and sparkle, while the neutral accents keep your décor classy and elegant.

As you could see from my Thanksgiving table, I am all about incorporating gold into the holiday table. Use my Thanksgiving table as a guide to build your own unique holiday table - start with a natural and netrual base and add layers of different gold elements in all textures, shapes and sizes.  From Hanukkah to Christmas and most certainly New Year’s, gold is my color choice this holiday season. Here are some items and tips to add some glorious gold into your holiday festivities.

{Catching Up}

I am back! I have lots to catch you all up on and some fun (and hopefully helpful) posts to share with you. I want to start by showing you my Thanksgiving table décor. I know it is a couple weeks late, but it will tie in nicely with my next post…so stay tuned!

My theme this year was gold with natural accents. I started with a natural tablecloth and a textured ivory runner. Gold chargers topped with an ivory hemstitch napkin tied with burlap and a gold ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ message. {A little tip, you can never go wrong with a hemstitch napkin – always simple and elegant}

Flowers in fall hues dotted the table in a mix of vases. {A little tip, look around your house and see how you can repurpose items, most of the vases I used are actually glasses}

I mixed in some more natural elements with olive branches, apples, pomegranates and persimmons. I also placed gold wrapped chocolate and pistachios for a dual purpose – décor and snacking. {A little tip, don’t be limited to just using flowers, mix in fruits, vegetables, nuts, breadsticks and other unpredictable items}

Lastly, I continued my gold theme by spray painting pears and acorns gold. {A little tip, don’t be afraid of spray paint, it is great way to transform practically any item}

{Tuscan} Rehearsal Dinner

Lindsay & Oren’s rehearsal dinner was a perfect start to their amazing wedding weekend. To contrast from their classic and elegant Bel Air Hotel wedding, we chose to create a rustic Tuscan dinner to kick off the festivities. A family friend’s beautiful backyard set the stage for an intimate evening under the stars. Long wood dining tables, rustic chargers, hemstich napkins, delicious wines and a family style meal helped to transform Beverly Hills into the Italian countryside.
