{I'm Back} + {New Project}

I‘m so sorry for my complete lack of posting. I promise to get back into the swing of things and share my inspirations, current projects and basically anything that catches my fancy. Now that I have cemented my promise, I should probably share what I have been up to in the past couple weeks. Besides the busyness of life that comes with the beginning of fall as well as meetings with clients and meetings with potential clients, I have taken on a new project.  As I am building my event company, my focus has definitely been on the events and entertaining, but as a devotee of all things pretty, I also have a love for design and décor. I have been asked to help a friend decorate her office space – to infuse some life into her workspace and make it an inviting place for clients and guests. We are in the middle of the process, but I will be sure to share photos of the completed space.

Though I am certainly no interior designer, I’ve always had an appreciation and love of designing and decorating spaces – I’m redecorating my apartment on a weekly basis, mind you it’s all in my head! As I am expanding the services that I offer and discovering new ways of expressing my overall design aesthetic, I want to start sharing some of my inspiration with all of you.

I’m drawn to a wide array of styles, from classic & traditional to bohemian & eclectic. However, my primary design requirement and aesthetic is basically anything that speaks to me. This home is definitely one of those. As much as I love a simple palette of all white, bright bursts of color create a warm and welcoming home, where entertaining is just as important as any design element.

Sorry for the lack of posting as of late. I have been busy with work and life and unfortunately my blogging has been neglected. I promise to get back on track shortly, but in the meantime I leave with you an image of what my ideal rainy day would look like. I love the rain and I'm excited were finally getting some fall-like weather however, having to run around and be productive in the rain is something I dread. I would much rather cozy up on my couch, with an oversized sweater and some knit socks sipping on tea and enjoying a perfect piece of toast...watching some good 90210 reruns would make it even better!

{Pretty Party}

{via Saipua}

Today is the first official day of fall. I'm definitely more of a cool-weather gal, so I'm ready for the cooler temps, crispness in the air and all that comes along with fall. These photos certainly get me in the mood for my favorite season. Deep shades of purple veering on black, accented with blackberries and figs – my two favorite fruits of all time might I add. Saipua, a florist out of Brooklyn who inspires me every time I peruse their blog, does it again with these stunning arrangements. And by now you should know that I am a total sucker for long dining tables and the combination of rustic and elegant.

I'm hoping this cooler weather (and characteristic gloom) continues throughout the weekend. I am starting to dream up my fall plans, which include lots of homemade soups, apple picking, hot cocoa making and sprucing up my wardrobe with some jewel tones essential. Wishing you a fall-inspired weekend!

 {I am typically not a fan of orchids - but in this arrangement it totally works}
